The senior Instructional Designer is responsible for design, development, management and support of advanced course material and training aides for specified needs, including but not limited to mortgage processing, operational training and people skills training. Training needs may be instructor-led or eLearning.  Considered the subject matter expert in the field of instructional design, this position will systematically and reflectively translate the principles needed to be learned into instructional material that follow the industry guidelines.  This position will mentor peers, as well as, perform needs analysis and recommend the best training modality to deliver or improve training.

Job Description

  • Organizes course content to product curriculum that meets learning needs of the business
  • Coordinate and oversee development team of colleagues and subject matter experts, explain roles and expectations, provide project documentation, develop project plan, manage to timeline, and resolve project-related problems and issues
  • Develops and manages timelines and milestones. Collaborates with internal business partners to validate that curriculum solutions align to business priorities and strategy for operational effectiveness
  • Participates in peer to peer reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines
  • Develops tools and processes to measure effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements
  • Guides the business on strategy implementation in the pursuit of business solutions
  • Acquires and applies advance knowledge of the business, its products and processes to create training materials that solution business needs
  • Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root cause(s), and provides information to the business or project teams
  • Works in coordination with Manager, Training to develop tools and processes to measure effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • High detail orientation
  • Expertise with LMS and content development software such as: Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, Vyond, etc.
  • Expert Google Suite apps such as Slides, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, and Gmail
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
